Our areas of CSR intervention are social, environmental and forward-looking
- Social: We support projects and initiatives in the communities and regions where we operate that bring improvements in community services - in kindergartens, schools, housing for disadvantaged people, facilities for the poor and elderly, emergency services, healthcare, public buildings as well as community events.
- Environmental: We support and develop projects and initiatives that contribute to sustainable forest management (including forest certification), wood traceability, reforestation and protection of biodiversity-rich areas.
- Forward-looking: We support education, research, development and innovation in forestry and the wood industry by means of scholarships (at universities and technical schools), endowment of laboratories, projects and events.
Emergency aid
In recent years, representatives of the HS Timber Group have established close ties with Africa and especially with Ethiopia, a region battered by hunger, poverty and armed conflict. The civilian population, families and children, have to bear the consequences of such events and often need urgent help. It is very important to the companies of the group to support the people in the country through emergency aid and the educational projects.
Together!-Initiative
In 2020, we launched in Romania Together!-Initiative, as an immediate response to the sanitary needs of the local communities when it had to face COVID-19.
Since then, Together!-Initiative evolves and folds on specific needs, generated by global contexts that reflect directly on local communities. Be they health, education, or environmental contexts, we aim to bring substantial support where it is most needed.
